Hirus  Inspection Services Inc. offers several design and feasibility consultation services as well as basic construction inspections for their clients working on a renovation project.

Design and Feasibility Consultations:

A Hirus representative will meet with a client to discuss possible design ideas and to help iron out potential problems or limitations with a plan they have before they start. We can also sit down with a client and help them review any quotes they have received from contractors before they award the contract.

For example:

We do this by applying the experience and expertise it takes to be a Home inspector and appy it to the task at hand.

We are not Civil Engineers and do not offer any design or engineering services.

We can help our clients with the experience of being on "the other side" for so many years, and we can help them come up with informed and intelligent questions to ask their contractors.

Renovation (in Progress) Inspections:

Hirus can provide a "watch-dog" service while a construction or renovation project is on-going. We understand that it is very easy for some contractors to cut corners and not quite do what they said they would do. In most cases it is not a big deal to the outcome of the project. But sometimes there could be a situation where life and safety are affected.

We will schedule surprise visits to a client’s home to "check" that their contractor is not cutting any corners, doing what they said they would do, or has not made any major construction violations. We will observe and report to the client with detailed information for the client to take to the contractor for explanation.

For example: A Hirus Inspector may determine that....

We do this by applying the experience and expertise it takes to be a Home inspector and apply it to the task at hand.

We do not conduct code compliant inspections nor do we make referance to specific code violations.

Were are not out to get any one, we just want to help our clients get what they pay for. The experience of being on "the other side" for so many years has allowed us to see what contractors can get away with.

Similar to the Renovation in Progress Inspection above, Hirus can provide a "watch-dog" service while construction of a clients NEW home is being built. Most subdivision builders do not have the resources to keep a close eye on all their sub-contractors. As well, the official building department inspectors only visit during scheduled visits and may have to inspect several homes on the block in a short time. Hirus does not discount the job of the official Building inspector, but they are stretched very thin in most jurisdictions and they can not keep on top of every change in every house.

Our clients want to make sure that their house is being built correctly. We understand that it is very easy for some contractors to cut corners especially in the new home construction field. Hirus works for their client and tries to eliminate most of these situations before they get covered up, or cause problems down the road.

Most reputatble home builders do not mind our service because, in the long run, it also helps them. Hirus will provide a contract amendment to their client which they will in turn give to their builder. This amendment will allow a Hirus representative unlimited access to the client’s future home construction site.

We will schedule surprise visits the job site to "check" that their contractor is not cutting any corners, doing what they said they would do, or has not made any major construction violations. We will observe and report to the client with detailed information for the client to take to the builder for explanation.
